It’s that time again when I have a look through my list of handy links and share them with you. In this installment we look at how to uninstall Internet Explorer 7, how to manage your time as a webmaster, a hat tip to Googles blog search facility, an explanation of RSS, how to get the most out of WordPress 2.1, how using keywords will make you more money and some excellent advice on optimal website page length.

Ever since I wrote the article about Troubleshooting Internet Explorer 7 I have had tons of traffic to the site. Clearly Microsoft have got some serious problems with their new web browser. As I suggested in a later article, one option is to install Firefox. Another is to uninstall IE7. This isn’t as easy as it sounds to a lot of users so have a look at Shoemoneys 5 Step Guide To Uninstalling IE7.

As a webmaster, managing your time is just as important as producing quality websites. If you’re managing more than a couple of sites, you’ll know how difficult it is to keep on top of things. So if you’re looking to work smarter, Lee Dodd has got some excellent advice for you. Have a read of his article 10 Ways To Become A More Efficient Webmaster.

If you’re a blogger, you probably already know about this but Google offer a search facility just for blogs. They’ve been very clever with the name too. It’s called Google Blog Search. Inspired.

RSS rocks. I love it. It’s a great way of keeping up to date with fresh content from all of your favourite sites but how do you explain what RSS is to someone who doesn’t know their RSS from their elbow? Simple. You use Brian Clarks guide entitled What the Heck is RSS? One of the great things about this article is that Brian gives you permission to reproduce it on your own site. I like to think of it as Really Simple Syndication in Really Simple Sentences!

Talking on things that rock, WordPress is my absolute favourite blogging software without a shadow of a doubt. They launched WordPress 2.1 back in January and there are some great articles out there on how to optimise your WP experience including 10 Things You Should Know About WordPress 2.1, WordPress 2.1 Upgrade Tips and Tricks and a brilliant piece by Lorelle VanFossen about WordPress over at the Blog Herald.

Making money on the internet is what this site is all about. One of the best ways to make money is to identify a niche market and create an authority site but how do you find the niche market in the first place? Wordtracker is an exceptional piece of software which allows you to see what people are searching for online and then compare it with how many other sites are out there competing for the same search phrases. They recently announced a free version of their software which I highly recommend you try before purchasing the full value product.

Actually, whilst we’re on the subject of those lovely people at Wordtracker and identifying keywords, they have produced a couple of great articles that I think are worth perusing. The first is entitled The Keyword Matrix and it explains how to create a list of profitable keywords. The second is Three Good Reasons To Target Long-Tail Keywords and it looks at how to build a niche website using very specific keywords.

I’ve not used this next site yet but I’m planning to do so on one of my project sites in the next couple of months. The site is called Hey!Watch and it allows you to encode video files into numerous different formats for online viewing including YouTube. Techcrunch say it’s a “seriously cool online video converter” so it must be good!

Finally, for this little round up, the ever brilliant Aaron Wall of SEO Book fame has written an article about the optimal copy length for a website. I’ve been asked this a number of times before so it’s great to have an authority site to quote from.
