It’s a quiet, cold December Sunday so what better way to spend it than writing another list of links? These are a collection of sites that have been sitting in my Need to Read folder for a while so sit back and enjoy a big list of SEO tools, guides to building links, a keyword suggestion tool, how to see how much money you’ll make with AdSense, how to increase your AdSense CTR, how to put your text on any picture and a couple of comic strip generators to spice up your website.

First up is DNS Scoop, a handy tool to check out how popular your site is. It displays information including Google PageRank, age of the domain, number of incoming links, Alexa rating, number of indexed pages and even gives you an idea how much your site is worth.

Next is an article from SEOlogs called The Essential Guide to Link Building. I think the clue to the content is in the title It’s not ground breaking but it contains some great tips for people starting out or even for those who have been around for a while.

Actually whilst you’re there, have a look at the SEOlogs Tools. Some nice little tools for you to keep in your SEO Tool Kit including Keyword Suggestion, Link Popularity Tool and an AdSense Profit Calculator.

Whilst we’re talking about SEO tools, you can’t go wrong with any of the excellent tools available on We Build Pages. Their Free Internet Marketing and SEO Tools are, quite simply, outstanding. The Top Ten Analysis Tool is my new best friend. Simply enter a search phrase and it will return the top ten results on the search engines and a whole lot more.

Interestingly enough on the front page of We Build Pages is a mocked up sign saying “Got Traffic?”. Wouldn’t it be great if you could put your text on any sign? Well now you can with the Text2Pic website. There are thousands of templates to use. If you’re no whizz with Photoshop, this is the site for you.

Back to AdSense again, one of the ways to increase your CTR is to match the AdSense font in your body text. I tried this on one of my sites a few months back and have noticed a slight increase in CTR. Not a massive amount but it only took 30 seconds to change the font properties in my CSS stylesheet so well worth doing.

One of the tips on SEOlogs is to include some funny Photoshop pics to get some traffic. Another way is to have some funny cartoons and, if you’re like me, can’t draw for toffee then these sites are ideal. Comic Strip Generator. Commix.
