The new Google?

October 6th, 2006 · 6 Comments

Just picked up on another article over at ShoeMoney about the prototype of the new Google search engine.

http://www.searchmash.com/

I actually quite like it. Obviously it’ll change over time to include sponsored results but as a work in progress I think it’s quite cool.

Oh and I’ve got to thank DaveN for giving me a laugh. Dave was one of the links off The Shoemeisters original post. I love the tagline on his site. “Nothing beats a good rank”

Hi Mike. What do you think about the change in Google pageranking? My blogs took a beating. I got knocked down 2 points on average. Thanks for nothing Goog.

Well I did OK after the Big G PR update, to be honest. A couple of my sites had a good increase in PR so I can’t complain. This site is so new that I knew I’d be sitting in the sandbox/trustbox for a while so that didn’t bother me that much so I was happy with the update.

I’m surprised that your sites took a hit but, I guess, how much emphasis do you put on Google PR?

      Apparently not enough ;-)

      Fair enough :D

Your main site is showing a PR of 4 - what was it previously?

I think that maybe the problem is the number of incoming links. Just had a look over at Yahoo! Site Explorer and it shows 666

Oh and cheers for the link on your site. Blog Aficionado. I like the sound of that :D

Sorry for the tardy response. My pagerank used to be 6!
