One of the blogs I regularly read is written by David Airey, an Edinburgh graphic designer. He came up with a nice idea for a meme and, since it’s Friday and I’m hungover, I thought what the heck?
Now I don’t normally do memes but this one is a bit of fun. It’s called The Face Behind The Blog:
Post a short blog article that includes a photograph (or a series of photos) showing the face behind your blog. If you already show a photo somewhere on your site (such as in your about page), then make your post more interesting and choose a photo that’s not currently online.
I don’t have any recent pics of me on my computer so rather than post a photo, I thought I’d share a video of me. It’s from a commercial I did last year and let’s just say that you might just see me in a different light after watching this
Quite a few of the blogs I regularly read have already taken part including Wendy Piersall, Rory Sullivan, Lisa Sabin-Wilson and Randa Clay but I thought it would be nice to see some more so this is the virtual gauntlet being thrown down and I’m tagging the following people to take part:
- Andy Beard
- The Linkbait King
- Blog Bloke
- Everton Blair
- Darren Rowse
- Robert Gale
- RT Cunningham
- Jane May
- Rob Watts
- Aaron Brazell
Consider yourself tagged, folks
UPDATE: Since the video doesn’t seem to work any more, I’ve posted an update to this post with a new photo.
UPDATE 2: The video is now back on YouTube. The embedded link above seems to be a bit flakey at the moment so use this link instead: Fart Attack Video

Wow, now that commercial was really special. It warmed my heart and brought tears to my eyes.
Thanks for the mention!

Very witty, Mike! It warmed my heart too (and I’m sure I’ve seen that advert before).
You’re now proudly listed on my original list of participants.

It was a tough gig, let me tell you. Getting paid to drink beer, eat chocolate and fart isn’t as easy as it seems

Nice video of one of the most amusing natural phenomena out there.
I’ll definitely be responding to this meme
thanks for the notification

“Getting paid to drink beer, eat chocolate and fart isn’t as easy as it seems”
Don’t dismiss my life’s ambition like that!

Trust me, Chris, it was tough getting that goldfish to fart on demand. The amount of takes we wasted on that one shot…

I would be happy to oblige but I’m afraid that I might crack YourTube lens… love the SOB button btw.

Hey Mike, the links aren’t working! I’m so disappointed. I’m assuming that you chose this video in particular to show off your acting abilities. Yes?
Mike // Jul 6, 2007 at 12:35 am
Did you try the test link, BB? If not head on over to YouTube and search for “fart attack” and you’ll see me in all my technicolour glory
Blog Bloke // Jul 6, 2007 at 1:46 am
I did that. The links don’t work for me and there’s a ton of fart attack videos @ YouTube. Which one is yours?

Sadly it looks like they’ve taken it down. How very bizarre. The whole idea was that it was a viral campaign for the ad agency. This post was Stumbled (cheers Andy) and the video must have been getting some views (i.e. it had gone viral) which was what the idea in the first place!
I’ll have a hunt round and see if I can find the video anywhere else and let you know.

Ok, I caved in. This one’s for you Mike. But don’t blame me if you get jealous.
