Shakespeare and making money

January 31st, 2007 · No Comments

Would thou wert clean enough to spit upon!

I guess that when you think about the people you’d turn to when it comes to making money online that William Shakespeare wouldn’t be top of your list. Well maybe it’s time to think again.

He might have been dead for nearly 400 years but Bill can teach us all a thing or two about making a dollar on the internet…

The following quote from Julius Caesar comes courtesy of a post by QuadsZilla.

There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat;
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose the ventures before us.

If you’re not a great Shakespeare fan, essentially what the above quote is saying is that if you don’t get up off your butt and do something about your great idea to make money, you’ll miss out on the opportunity and be “bound in shallows and in miseries”.

I don’t know about you but that whole shallows and miseries thing sounds a bit scary so I think it’s time to finalise my battle plan for 2007 and start doing something about it.
