If you read my post the other week about writing for the web then you’ll be familiar with Liz Strauss. Liz writes a blog called Successful Blog. It does what it says on the tin. It contains a wealth of information that should be essential reading for anyone who writes for the web.
Liz was recently interviewed over at TechZOnline and it is well worth a read. One thing that made me sit up was the following quote by Liz which I hope both Liz and TechZOnline are happy with me quoting below.
When you started out blogging, what was the scene like?
Gee, it wasn’t really that long ago, you know. I started blogging in July of 2005. I don’t what’s my perception and what’s reality. I can say this there were about 1/3 as many blogs and it sure seemed easier to keep up with what was going on. The 3-D world didn’t pay any attention at all.
Things were a lot more wild west feeling.
Look how fast things move. A 2/3 increase in the number of blogs since July ’05. I’m a late starter myself. The first blog I started work on was in the first quarter of this year despite having been active on the Web for over ten years. In an article on SB, Liz mentions her excitement at hitting the top 750,000 out of 15 million blogs on Technorati. At last count there were over 50 million blogs on Technorati.
If you blog, do yourself a favour. Mooch on over to the link to your right marked Successful Blog and give it a click. Hey. I’ll make it even easier for you. Click here. You won’t regret it.
