Just read over at ShoeMoney’s excellent site that the rumour on the streets is that Google are about to buy YouTube for somewhere between 1.5-2 BILLION dollars.

That’s right, Mr Powers, 2 Billion dollars.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

EDIT : OK just seen it over on the BBC News website so I guess it must be true. The BBC article quotes a figure of $1.6bn. Personally I preferred $2bn. It sounds better when Doctor Evil says it…

EDIT (9 October) : $1.65bn the final figure Google paid to buy YouTube. Shit on a stick. That’s a lot of money! AdSense is obviously making a big margin on those accounts that get binned for invalid clicks, eh?
