The Who’s Who of search have put together their list of the most important factors in getting the best search engine results and, quite frankly, if you run a blog or a website, you’d be mad not to read their findings.
The survey conducted by Rand Fishkin at SEOmoz is the best of it’s kind that I’ve seen. Taken from a poll of 35 of the biggest names in the search and SEO market, it is an absolute must bookmark for anyone who is serious about getting their site higher up the Google rankings.
A lot of the topics I’ve talked about in the past such as authority websites, the Google sandbox and making the Title tag work for you are covered along with other topics I’ve been meaning to write about such as linking policies, site age, site hierarchy and anchor text (Hmmm…I wonder if Todd is getting any traffic from the nice beard anchor text I used) as well as looking at the negative factors - things that stop you getting a good result in Google.
Do yourself a massive favour and bookmark this page: Search Ranking Factors. Print it out, pin it up above your monitor, get it tattooed on your forehead. It really is a great reference document that will prove massively beneficial to anyone with a website.
