Digital Point

September 16th, 2006 · No Comments

I’m developing a site for an actress at the moment. It’s a simple site using CSS. The one complicated thing she wanted was a graphical rollover option for her gallery. I know you can do it using JavaScript but I find JavaScript an ugly, cumbersome solution which bloats your code. Besides, the rest of the site is CSS so why not the rollover?

I waded through over 20 pages of Google results for “CSS rollovers” and nothing did the job. It was a load of rehashed ideas stolen from other peoples sites claiming to be theirs. So I trundled off to the Digital Point forums and posted my request. I didn’t know quite what to expect. Would anyone reply? Would it be any use? I know what I wanted to do was possible but would anyone be able to help?

In less than 24 hours not only did I get a response but the solution is bordering on brilliance. Slick, clean code which is easy to customise to suit my requirements. I slapped the code into my test site for the actress and it works like a dream.

I’m not going to bother trawling the net for code help anymore. Digital Point rocks! A massive thank you to mstwntd who was the user who provided me with the help. He’s a 19 year old designer from Melbourne in Australia. 19? As Danny Glover once said maybe I’m getting too old for this shit…
