Comic Relief

Buy the Shaggy Blog Stories book online and raise money for the Comic Relief charity

I’ve been away for the last few days so not been able to write anything about the great work performed by a group of British bloggers who have raised in excess of $2750 for the Comic Relief charity in less than 48 hours.

The idea was to collate hundreds of posts from British bloggers, put them all together in a book and sell it online. All well and good, I hear you say, but they gave themselves just seven days to do it! Somehow they managed to pull it off and have put together 100 funny stories by the cream of British bloggers including published writers, BBC presenters, newspaper journalists and comedy script writers.

A collection of 100 short humorous pieces from the UK blogosphere. All profits from the sale of this book will be donated to the Comic Relief charity. Contributors include Richard Herring, Andrew Collins (BBC 6Music), Emma Kennedy, James Henry (Channel 4’s “Green Wing”), Abby Lee (Girl With A One-Track Mind), Catherine Sanderson (Petite Anglaise), Zoe McCarthy (My Boyfriend Is A Twat), novelist David Belbin, Anna Pickard (The Guardian), and a diverse selection of some of the UK’s most talented bloggers.

You can read more about the project on the Troubled Diva website or buy the book online at Shaggy Blog Stories. All profits from the book are going straight to the Comic Relief charity.

Congratulations to Mike and the guys who have so far raised $3954 for Comic Relief. Not bad for 17 days work 😀

Why not do your bit by buying the book and tipping it over the $4000 total?

I’ve received my copy and, let me tell you, it’s seriously funny. I was reading it on the tube the other night and was giggling like a..ermm..giggly thing.
