Remember when I mentioned my carpet cleaning guy and questioned whether it was always possible to leverage Web 2.0 techniques for every type of product?
Now, as far as I can see, no carpet cleaning story is ever going to make the front page of Digg. Linkbait for carpet cleaning? I don’t think so. Equally, a YouTube viral ain’t gonna work either so how can I leverage the power of Web 2.0 (God I hate that term already) to increase my customers revenue?
Graywolf and The Linkbait King both weighed in with some great ideas about using viral video to promote the service but I still wasn’t convinced. Well thanks to Jennifer Laycock over at Search Engine Guide I’ve been converted and will be speaking to a number of my film maker friends over the next few days.
Jennifer posted a brief article on SEG the other day which I’ve only just picked up on. I was skimming through my feed reader trying to clear the 400+ backlog generated by me being away from blogging for a few days and I very nearly missed it. I’m glad I didn’t.
The post contains the YouTube video below. It’s only 2 minutes long but watch it. It’s brilliant.
So I’m off to work on the screenplay for “Debbie Does Dalton” and I’ll let you know when the video hits YouTube

Oh, my, there are so many better videos. Whether it is Windward Reports by Barats and Beretta or just Sarith Xin Azuma aka “Urban Ninja for Hire” over 11 million views. Both on YouTube, and featured and discussed www.burningshorts.com
