Best web application for weblogs: YouTube.
How the Hell that won and WordPress or even Blogger didn’t is beyond me. Without a publishing platform you don’t have a weblog! YouTube?? Who voted for this? Digg users?
Best European weblog: My Boyfriend Is A Twat.
Fair one. I love Zoes writing style and it’s always an interesting read although it would have been interesting to see Petite Anglaise make it to the final. They both have a similar readership demographic so a girly fight involving jelly might have made it fun!
Best British or Irish weblog: Girl With a One-Track Mind.
Having won it last year, The Girl said she’d rather see the award go to someone else but, clearly, the voting public decided otherwise. To be honest, my vote went to An Unreliable Witness because I love the writing on this blog.
Best American weblog: Cute Overload.
OK, America. Is that the best you’ve got? I mean – seriously? Your best blog is pictures of furry animals? Give me JonnyB, little.red.boat, A Welsh View, Yaxlich, A Beautiful Revolution or Scaryduck any time!
Best Weblog about politics: Wonkette.
I’m sure it’s very good but best blog about politics?? Please. It’s like winning the “Who has the best haemorrhoids competition”…
Best web development weblog: A List Apart.
I have to be honest and say that I’ve not read the winner yet so I’ll reserve judgement but Copyblogger is an essential read. Obviously I completely disregard all of the good advice Brian gives but there you go 😉
Best teen weblog: It’s Raining Noodles.
Dear Lord. When I officially left teendom, the internet wasn’t around! What do they talk about? Acne? Premature ejaculation? Techniques on how to scare old women? I’m not sure I feel brave enough to check out the winner…
Best designed weblog: Gizmodo.
Personally I prefer Pearsonified. Chris has a way of creating themes which are stylish, chic and SEO friendly. I never grow tired of discovering a new Pearsonified theme. Keep up the good work, fella!
Best kept secret weblog: Confessions of a Pioneer Woman.
Never heard of any of them.
Weblog of the year: PostSecret.
I don’t get it. Seriously, I don’t get it.
So there you have it. The cream of blogging. 60 million blogs and these are the best. I wonder what their AdSense CTR is…
